FASHION SOUP

Solid

Good soups. Huge daily menu. Menu on this website is bare-bones. Great selection of empanadas. They include nice bread and choice of fruit for free with soup.

Consistantly Great!

I've been going to Fashion Soup at least twice a week for a good long time now, as I work just around the corner. And I have nothing but the best to say about this place! The soup is DELICIOUS... Their tag line is "Just like Grandma's"... And it's true, their soup is just like Grandmas, provided your grandmother was a gourmet cook. Try the Tomato Basil with Mozzarella- my personal favorite. Their prices are extremely reasonable (although how any place can be "cash only" in this day in age is beyond me) and you'll get either a half sandwich, or a large piece of fresh bread, cookie, and fruit of your choice to go along with it. You will be filled up on good, healthy food, and all for around 6 bucks! Finally, their staff is so friendly. They're always extremely welcoming, and their delivery is some of the fastest I've seen. A+

The soup was decent and it was nice that they offered bread, a cookie and a piece of fruit with it. The apples were very bruised and the bananas were green so I passed on the fruit. Despite that, it's the right price for a midtown lunch so I might be back.

Yo quiero empanadas? I know I do! In this little store the soup is always on. They have lots and lots of soup and empanadas in all shapes and sizes. The staff is very friendly. Around lunchtime there is often a line going out the door but if you come after 3pm the prices are slashed in half. They just added a breakfast menu. Try calling before arriving so your food is ready for you before you arrive. Just don't order the chicken empada. That's mine.

Fashion Soup Corp.

Continuing our Fashion Week theme, I decided to give the full +/- treatment to a place I discovered on Friday, and mentioned briefly in yesterdays post.  Walking back to work from taking pictures of wichcraft for my Fashion Week guide to Midtown Lunch, I randomly stumbled upon this weird little soup place- and based on the name alone, and what was going on half a block away in Bryant Park, I figured I had to check it out. .. Soups on!

By Alma Z. | Insider Guru

If you like soup this is the place you want to go. Fashion Soup has a wide variety of soups and the friendly staff offer samples if you cant decide which soup you want. They also sell yummy empanadas (beef, chicken, ham & cheese, the works). The place is a little small. Around lunchtime there is a line outside the door so I suggest coming early.

Pros: Delicious soups & empanadas
Cons: Small store

Reviews: Good Soup

Fredi R. says:

At least once a week I make it my business to stop by Fashion Soup for lunch. I try to go around a little after 1pm to avoid the lunch hour crowd. The store is very small and the lines are often very long. The soups are wonderful. I can't get enough of morrocan soup. I also like the staff since they are always so friendly and polite. The few times Fashion Soup is empty you can sit on the counter, read a few magazines and drink the ice cold water sitting in a pitcher nearby. I also enjoy the empanadas. The columbian is my favorite as well as the guacamole. The prices are good too.

Empanadas rule

Don't be fooled by the small size of fashion soup. Inside they have a great variety of soups and empanadas. They soups are delicious and they always offer you a sample of any soup you want. Personally I go for the empanadas. They have chicken parmigan, ham & cheese, pizza, regular meat and they even started doing breakfast so bacon & eggs empanadas. Delicious. Call ahead for the breakfast empanadas so they are ready when you arrive.

Soups & Empanadas!

Smooshed in between a FedEx and a Italian restaurant is a tiny shop that serves only the most delicious soups and empanadas in the city. The soups come in many different flavors as does the empanadas. If you are not sure which soup you want you can taste a sample. After 3pm the prices are slased in half. Around lunch time there is often a line that goes out the door. They recently started making breakfast empanadas as well.
